Pity about the result, my heart goes out to all you rovers fans, Donny put up one hell of a fight, shame about the shoot out, but I will say one thing......... You did South Yorkshire pride. Well Done Donny Rovers.     Wigan-V-Arsenal Blackburn-V-Man utd. maybe another arse-nil & man utd final is on the cards.........? Note to the Glaziers: get rid off fergie if you wanna win somet this decade. (and yes, I am a man utd fan, but at the moment, they are playing like some other CRAP TEAM in the division below!!) saxon51 21-12-2005, 21:52 Bad luck Donny. Listened on Radio Sheffield and really thought they'd done it. Where the hell did 2 minutes of added time from 15 minutes of play come from? Still, it's good to have a battery of tame refs when you play lower league teams and you're on the back foot isn't it!! Well done Donny, and I'm sure that the whole of South Yorkshire were rooting for them. They may have lost the penalty shoot-out, but they won the game. Zimily 21-12-2005, 21:59 For once I do think most of South Yorkshire was rooting for Donny. I had one of my mates who is a Wednesday fan text me saying he wanted Donny to win - believe me that was the first time he'd ever said that!!! I hope other Wednesday fans were cheering us on also, the amount of stick I get for being a Donny fan from them is madness! It would be good to hear nice words about Donny tomorrow at work! barnie41 21-12-2005, 22:00 Donny have nothing to be ashamed of - Arsenal players know full well they have been lucky to win that one. Bring on Donny's new ground and another promotion - John Ryan and Dave Penny = top men, top club, great performance again. Speaking as a Man Utd fan you are speaking out of your backside pal. Since the Benfica defeat we are playing some GREAT football. 3 wins on the trot and we are cruising. Effortless victories. Park is coming good, Saha is getting sharp. All we need is a midfield enforcer in the January sales and we will be there. Ferguson has not lost his touch, and deserves more respect. Chelsea have raised the bar. Without a certain Roman Abramovich and we would be top. Guderian 21-12-2005, 22:02 Thought Donny asked for trouble. What the hell was the left back doing pushing up so far with a minute left, and against a whippet like Eboue? barnie41 21-12-2005, 22:17 Guderian - oh, and Man Utds achievements are nothing to do with money then? You're right, Fergie does deserve some respect, and he'd get alot more if he started talking to the press as he should do, and stopped acting as if he's gods gift. Beating Birmingham was no great shakes - so don't read too much into that. Donny beat Villa and the're in Div 1, so read into that what you will. Yes, Chelsea have raised the bar - but unfortunately they do have Abramovich and are top and are going to stay there all season. Please don't bleat about money - with a turnover like Man Utds, that really is a bit much. saxon51 21-12-2005, 22:25 Originally posted by Zimily I hope other Wednesday fans were cheering us on also, the amount of stick I get for being a Donny fan from them is madness! It would be good to hear nice words about Donny tomorrow at work! You can think yourself lucky you're not a Barnsley fan! Then you WOULD know the meaning of the word 'stick'. You must be proud as punch of the lads tonight. And rightly so. Guderian 21-12-2005, 22:29 Originally posted by barnie41 Guderian - oh, and Man Utds achievements are nothing to do with money then? You're right, Fergie does deserve some respect, and he'd get alot more if he started talking to the press as he should do, and stopped acting as if he's gods gift. But Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Beckham, Butt cost nothing. our team has always been a mixture of home grown youth and signings. Chelsea dont have to fall back on the youth, and i dont think thats good for the game. Anyway, i was just sticking up for Fergie by saying other United fans shouldnt assume he has lost it just because Chelsea are now No.1 Zimily 21-12-2005, 22:37 Originally posted by saxon51 You can think yourself lucky you're not a Barnsley fan! Longcol 21-12-2005, 22:59 As sick as one of them big budgies. But the Rovers have done themselves proud in this cup run. Go for the play offs now Donny. Robbie Loving 22-12-2005, 07:26 just so people know, i believe the goal was timed at 30.23 so its regardless whether there was 2 mins extra time or not ANGELUS 22-12-2005, 11:35 Originally posted by kirky oh and every **** that knows **** all about football supports man utd:thumbsup: You sure about that comment kirky lad? spyro2000 22-12-2005, 11:46 Originally posted by ANGELUS You sure about that comment kirky lad? The reason he's always cheerful in post-match interviews: He ONLY does the interview when they win. If the result is not a win, then he sends out that foreign nutter who talks in a language which is supposedly English, but I can't uderstand more than the odd word. PS It would appear that no-one who actually lives in Manchester supports Man Utd. The ground is a long way from the city, and people think that they "Hijacked" the name "Manchester" and that it's not really part of them. Little_Alex 24-12-2005, 20:12 Being an Owl and livin in a cave what was the final result ? I hope they won :hihi: davep 24-12-2005, 20:20 'Tis supposed to be the season of goodwill to all men, so don't be silly !!!! Being an Owl as you are, no doubt you have no idea about a good season anyway.
