I think the shop in question was Curtis CO, The Steel City Stompers made a record there in the 50s

There used to be a branch of Wilson Peck on London Road probably opposite the Cremorne pub.

It was just up from Gerge Barlows, on London Rd near the bottom of Keetons Hill. It did some second hand stuff and some imports.
I bought a few singles from there, which I still have.
"Suite:Judy Blue Eyes" by CSN, "Land of 1000 Dances" by Keem-O-Sabe and "Billy Porter" by Mick Ronson.
I think it was just a young guy who set up on his own. He was always good to chat to. He ordered me the first two Bruce Springsteen albums, in 1974, and I think he also did a good line in Bootlegs, but he kept these under the counter.
I've racked my brains for the shop's name, but once you get past fifty.....
