Police have received complaints that speed camera's on the M18 roadworks between junction 1 and 2 are still active, despite roadworks being removed.

The camera's have now been removed.

Gerry Scarfe from the South Yorkshire Safety Camera patnership said

" The camera's were to be removed on Tuesday , however two cameras were left in error. I can only apologise for this problem. Any driver flashed by the camera's since the roadworks were removed will not be prosecuted"

The cameras hadn't been removed at 7h10... At 7h09 the 2nd southbound camera flashed two cars (no... Not mine I were driving northbound to Doncaster).

Going Northbound, the carriageway does NOT narrrow down to 1 as the in 200yards sign suggests, it remains as a 3 lane config with NO 50mph speed limit (probably the cource of complaints as the cameras are probably still calibrated for 50mph).
