I was in the pub last night after a good game of badminton, and we were discussing the topic of getting pirated products as gifts for xmas.

What I wish to ask everyone is- do people think they make good stocking fillers for their kids or for other people?

And if they do- I'd like to know the number of people who do buy them regularly as xmas presents and the reason why they do get them.

Thanks all.

The reason I'm asking is that we were offered the new King Kong film which we were told was a perfect copy of the cinema release.

My mates purchased one and we gave it a try, and I have to agree it was absolutely first class.

It could be easily bought by anyone in that pub as a stocking filler for people wanting a suitable gift idea for their kids, thats a cheap alternative to the real thing for £15 which is not out for xmas this year.

To be honest, if I was to receive a pirated copy of anything for Christmas, apart from feeling compelled to inform the appropriate authority ;) I wouldn't be very happy - it would just scream cheapskate :)

I agree with Lea1979 - if I got pirated CD's pr DVd's for Xmas I'd think the giver was a real cheapskate and had a set of dodgy mates.

I know my mam used to get me the latest Now album for xmas on dodgy tapes from a bloke near the old sheffield markets when I was a kid.. the quality was absolutely pish poor, but it only cost a couple of bob then- made an extra bit in my xmas prezzie list though
