I'm impressed. :D

I've not done any poetry since I was about 14 so I think if I have a go it'll not be quite the same calibre as the quality items we've had so far. :)

Great stuff guys n gals.

Go for it Pauly

Variety is the spice of life, and if EVERYONE contributes it should be one hell of a poem with some remarkable ideas and insights:thumbsup:

Should the one liner be left in, do you think, for post-erity maybe ?

Pauly
03-03-2004, 23:16
Nah, I think it should be moved to the 'comment' thread miself. It did say in the beginning that all comments should be in this here thread. :D

I reckon the best contribution so far is the brilliant single verse effort by iamanant.

He didn't quite get the idea about where the rhymes should fall, but as dada poetry goes, it's right up there with Spike Milligan and Vic & Bob,

Well done mate!

Mod - I've removed it as not being in the spirit of the thread plus it was homophobic. Any complaints to Geoff.

Mod - Have removed the post. If the original poster wants to add it back here then do so.

No offence is meant.

LAND OF DOPE AND WHINGERS
England's industry-free
We are useless at football
But how we really love thee.

Rover went to the Germans
Jaguar sold out to Ford
All the things we were proud of
Bought by someone abroad.

Clowns who sit at elections
Titles that don't mean a thing
Earls, Dukes, Barons and MPs
Come on all of you sing.

Land of dope and whingers
English woman and man
Praise this home of our fathers
While it goes down the pan.
