What do you think? spyro2000 20-12-2005, 13:26 A load of crap at the moment imo. Should be good once more content gets added though  At the moment its good if you are a fan of the BBC :loopy: nick2 20-12-2005, 13:26 I love it, it will be great when there are more programs to choose from. Plain Talker 20-12-2005, 14:22 I really like it. yes, at the mo, you are limited in the number of programmes availalle. and i was gutted that they weren't showing last night's "demolition" with Park Hill Flats featured. PT kay_cee 20-12-2005, 21:44 My Sister came round doing a Christmas present drop tonight, We didn't bother taping eastenders, 'We'll just watch it on teleport replay' we thought. 'Oh no we won't' we discovered 1/2 hr ago as it's having 'technical problems' Tssk. sufc_tom 20-12-2005, 21:49 Being an employee of TW Broadband. I can honestly say... 1. Sky has TW by the balls when negotiating broadcasting fro channels due to their monopolisation of channels (e.g. The itv4 situation for any TW Tv customers @ the moment) 2. The boxes for me often crash and is very sluggish changing channels. 3. For premium channels such as sky movies, sports or premplus its cheaper on sky. in its defence 1. the packages are simpler to understand and generally cheaper compared to sky. 2. the maintenance of the box is free as apposed to skys "ownership of the box" policy. Also technical assistance is open till midnight free of charge to call. 3. you don't necassarily need a phone line for it (however doing so helps regarding bills). 4. the teleport service, post-teething problems, is very useful as you don't have to preset to record, has an extensive library of playback and the teleport movies aren't bad at all either. Also (except movies and life) to say its free its not a bad service at all. redrum 20-12-2005, 23:50 Originally posted by sufc_tom 2. It takes AGES to change a channel or for it to register what buttons I've pressed on the remote so sometimes it takes me to the wrong channel and stuff. I havn't tried the Replay service yet, I read about it in the thing that was sent in the post and I was really surprised it was free. So even if it isn't the best service or whatever I wouldn't complain about it. Murph 21-12-2005, 11:46
Originally posted by sufc_tom Being an employee of TW Broadband. Seems a bit daft when all other digital competitors are showing it, surely TW will be losing subscribers soon? spyro2000 21-12-2005, 15:00 Murph: I doubt ITV4 will be being shown for a while. They havent even told us when its likely to come to an agreement yet, let alone the general public. You are right, it really is sad. nick2 21-12-2005, 15:05 Originally posted by Murph Tom, do you know if there's any chance at all of ITV4 being shown on Telewest? I wouldn't change to Sky just for the sake of a couple of ITV channels, which will probably be just endless repeats of Coronation Street, I'm a Celebrity and other similar rubbish. I think the picture quality on TW is far superior to Sky, I used to almost lose my picture when it was windy or raining with Sky. sTaGeWaLkEr 21-12-2005, 15:11 Hmmm, not happy! We just sat and watched 2 linked episodes of 'Waking the dead' and five minutes before the end - just as we were about to find out 'who dunnit' the damn thing clicked off. To add insult to injury - a message was displayed: 'We hope you have enjoyed watching your programme' Grrrrr spyro2000 21-12-2005, 16:03 Originally posted by sTaGeWaLkEr To add insult to injury - a message was displayed: 'We hope you have enjoyed watching your programme' Grrrrr hahaha, now that is funny  clap: :D H.P 21-12-2005, 16:46 Our telewest has started to crash and freeze up since they updated the thing.. and dont get me started on the remote, it seems to have a mind of it's own. But all that aside I would never go back to sky, telewest has far better customer service  spyro2000 21-12-2005, 16:49 Telewest are so good you had to say it three times ay ;) sufc_tom 21-12-2005, 21:27 But all that aside I would never go back to sky, telewest has far better customer service  shall take that as a personal compliment seem as I am based there :D spyro2000 21-12-2005, 21:40 Originally posted by sufc_tom shall take that as a personal compliment seem as I am based there :D I think youll find they were referring to me pal  fnkysknky 23-12-2005, 13:06 Originally posted by sTaGeWaLkEr Hmmm, not happy! To add insult to injury - a message was displayed: 'We hope you have enjoyed watching your programme' Grrrrr Yeah I got that as I watched all the 1st series last week :) With regards to the boxes crashing - I've had 3 different boxes at different addresses with Telewest over last 4/5 years and the first 2 which were Pace were absolutely useless. The one we had installed in this house a few months ago is the Scientific Atlanta 4200 and it's spot on - virtually instant channel changes etc. and only time it has crashed is when gf left tv unit doors shut so it overheated. I took the doors off and it's been great since. |
