Will be moving to Sheffield (circumstances permitting) within a year. Londoner, Liverpudlian, Mancunian. What will I be once I've moved to your fine city?

Dont wanna sound unwelcoming at all, but do you really think anyone 'becomes' a Sheffielder/Mancunian etc?
I would have thought you are what you are. You can never 'become' a Sheffielder unless you are from here, IMO.

Anyway, i'm sure you'll love it. Most people do! :)

And dont worry, not everyone is as grumpy as me.

Of course you can become a 'Sheffielder', I moved here when I was 4 but I'm Sheffield 100% :D

Ditto on normal.

Especially if you eventually drop your native London accent in favour of broad yorkshire :D

Thanks for your replies, the way I phrased my question was a bit misleading. But I am currently a Londoner, have been since I was 2. So maybe the fact I wasn't born there but in Santiago, Chile means I have never been a Londoner. I think not. I spent just three days in your city recently and fell in love with it.

Call me an old hippy if you will, but here's to everyone loving everyone.
