seen as no one has responded , thought i'd reply, i went to comedy club at lescar last year , and i thought it was the best night ever, as far as laughs concerned.

Not been to the new venue yet, i liked the small venue type comedy...i agree though, people sometimes slag off toby in here, but hes so dam quick and funny, shame he was only the ...the. whats it called, the guy who introduces and fills in etc... my mind is a blank!

wouldnt mind seeing a full set of toby... (hint hint...free tickets toby (he's on the forum beth)

Yes we also went on Saturday night and I have to agree that Toby was the funniest, but the others were also very funny, it was a top night. One slight grumble (and am sure you will agree) the seats are far too close together and the tables too big. Would definitly go again:clap:

Hi Beth 29 glad you enjoyed it after your initial concerns did you all get sat together , and get food,

THe reasons behind the seating being so close together is to create atmosphere, most of the other comedy clubs around the uk, (yes other brands are avaialble) tend to rma seats in like there is no tomorrow. when one laughs we all laugh is the thoughts behind it and it alos helps you to make new friends !!

I went to this too.....It was a great night, and all the acts were great, as well as Toby.

Although, I think anyone who sees him regularly will have heard a lot of his material before. Still funny though.

The real bugbear, as I am sure most people would agree, was the group of guys who constantly heckled the comics.

Now, I know its all a part of live comedy shows, and it was great to see the 'put-downs', but the last comic must have spent at least 50% of his time on stage, dealing with a bunch of idiots, who by the way, thought they were sooooooo funny!!

So, all the material he had planned to use was wasted, and the audience never got to see his full act, and in fact paid good money to lisen to these morons.:!:

As a stage performer myself, I can sympathise with the act in question.

As a comedian, I actually like a degree of heckling - it gives me fodder, but there's a boundary line which some people unfortunately either don't acknowledge, or choose to disrespect.

Whilst one can argue that this behaviour actually says more about the heckler than the artist, it can be very frustrating for other members of the audience who are there to be entertained.

I have on occasion just glared at the said individual until they eventually shut up - this can be a very effective management strategy for dealing with naughty punters

I have, in the past, occasionally had to have people removed from the audience where the heckling was affecting the show - but this has been only on very rare occasions. Most of the time I just take pleasure in redressing the balance :heyhey:

Like I said, heckling is ok, and actually goes with the territory for most live performers, but when it becomes uncomfortable, it becomes an issue.

I actually feel that venues should, to some degree, accept some responsibility for unruly punters. If I owned a club, the people in question would have been asked to leave....end of!

5 of us went on Monday nite, 150% recommended never laughed sooooooooo much me face and sides were killin me with laughing so much. A couple of sily birds there thinkin they cud hijack the show but the compare soon sorted them out and they were "kindly" asked to leave :D. every single comic was good all with their own style, security was good too with the silly birds

Both are great nights out albeit a tad cramped, but really worth a look;)

Also so smoky in the room - the sooner the ban comes in the better!!!

I am sick of struggling to breathe as it is so smoky, then getting in and having to wash all my clothes.

It is SUCH an infringement on my human rights!!! Makes my blood boil that a few selfish people can spoil it for everyone
