It will come as a file attached to an e-mail.
You should be able to 'right click' on the attachment and "Save as" to whatever folder suits you prior to burning your CD.
If you are using Outlook or Outlook Express for your e-mail you could also select "Save attachments" from the "File" menu.
Depends on your email client, but the usual way is that the file would come as an attachment, so all you have to do is save the attachment, bye right clicking it and then click save.
You'll be lucky if your friend can actually send you a track by e-mail....if it's over a certain size, the e-mail provider (either the sender's or the receiver's) will split the attachment into two e-mails, and they won't be useable.
I've tried to do this in the past, by adding a background track to an e-mail, and it was really upsetting when it didn't work.
thanks for the help..just hoping it all works out:thumbsup:
Some of the major web based email clients aren't so limited when it comes to file sizes though, gmail for instance has a 2 Gig storage limit, if anyone wants a gmail invite, email me at sfrich@gmail.com

a better way to do it is to use one of the new sites such as rapidshare.de or yousendit.com
they upload (upto 50mb / 1gb respectively i think) then they email you a link and you download it.
the sites say its for emailing larger files than you can actually email

My main e-mail client has 10Gb storage, but I'm limited on what I can send, hence the fact that I couldn't use a background track in an e-mail.

The music file has not been sent to you.
Your friend has put it onto a webserver and given you the details of the address for you to go and get it for yourself.
I assume that you use Internet Explorer to view the internet/look at this Forum.
Above the browser window (where you are reading this) is a long narrow window with "Address" to the left of it and "http://www.sheffieldforum..............." inside it.
Keeping this browser open, open your e-mail, right-click on the link to the music file.
Select "Copy".
Come back to this browser and right-click in the address box. The "http://www.sheffield....." should be highlighted blue.
Select "Paste" and hit "Enter" on your keyboard.
You will now be taken away to the webserver and the music file.
Depending on how the page is set up you should be able to Download or Save the music file to your computer.
PM me the link from the e-mail if you need more specific help.
