View Full Version : I don't find Catherine Tate funny! Do you?
pattricia 16-12-2005, 21:50 Is it just me,but I dont find the comedian Katherine Tate funny.I think its because I like the American sense of humour,Jack Benny,Robin Williams,Bob Hope,Mel Brooks.I dont know, she seems to be winning awards, but I still dont find her funny.:suspect:
spyro2000 16-12-2005, 21:51 I think Catherine Tate is pretty decent, however like most British comedy nowadays, it is VERY repetetive.
*vanessa* 16-12-2005, 21:56 Can't stand her myself... But do i look bovvered? do I? look at my face... does this face look bovvered to you...
Vanessa:thumbsup:
Only seen snippets - keep missing the shows, but I'm sure I would like herfrom what I have seen.
alchresearch 16-12-2005, 22:00 I like the Yorkshire couple best, definetely reminds me of several people I know!
catherine tate has one effect on me..................sleep inducement!!

Thats what I thought so last night, we caught the show on UK Gold.
What a load of rubbish!
No, she's rubbish. Incredibly irritating rubbish too.
Bill Hicks and Blackadder re-runs for me.
A while ago whilst having my hair done a male hairdresser was really praising catherine tate.
He said she was absolutley brilliant etc
I thought id give it a try and tuned in to one of her shows.
Totally over rated. Unfunny in my oppinion
Couldn't find one thing to laugh at.
Moon Maiden 17-12-2005, 13:59 No i don't like her either.....so glad she didn't win anything at the comedy awards the other night

Kristian 17-12-2005, 16:15 I think she's pretty good from what I've seen but have to agree about the repetitiveness; catchphrase comedy is always going to be that way though.
Hillsb_Honey 20-12-2005, 11:18 I absolutley love Catherine Tate, I think she is hillariuos (sorry bout the spelling!)
I can't wait for the xmas special on tonight.
beefcrisp 20-12-2005, 11:53 I cant say I find her stuff funny, little britain is similar but I think that works as you have a paradoxial element of men dressing as women, which is always funny amazingly enough :hihi:
Its ok, will suffer the same fate as harry enfield and the fast show... a lack of new ideas means the same scenes just in different settings.
just hope she realises when its time to chuck in the towel.
Only 3 words are required to describe her act...
dull
dull
dull
Nope, I don't find her funny either. Infact when she was on The Royal Variety Performance I thought it was embarrassing.
dickdick69 20-12-2005, 19:37 i think she is great especially nan and the yorkshire couple, never known any other comedy act take the p*ss out of the queen and get away with it (royal variety show).

barnie41 20-12-2005, 22:29 She is boring, totally NOT funny, and I would imagine the Her Maj would not have found her funny.
I thought her performance at the Royal Variety Performance, was fantastic- I couldnt believe she was doing that to the queen.. absolutely mental- the queen looked as though she was enjoying it though- good on her :)
The xmas special last night was a bit poo though to be fair, only nan and Lauren stood out again for me.

Have to agree with you swanny.I also found her perfomance embarrassing. Everyone thought the queen was laughing, but she just looked confused to me.I beleive shes just another branch of Little Britain.Everyone will tire of them both soon. Not my type of humour at all.:suspect:
That's been happening a lot today... How could you watch the Christmas special and not laugh???
