I have just moved to sheffield and live near norwich union on eccelsal road-does anyone know how I would go about getting a job there and what it is like to work for them?

I don't know about applying direct to Norwich Union, but I know a recruitment agency called Kelly Services, near the catherdral in sheffield, used to recruit for them. I don't know if they do still recruit for Norwich Union or not.

I worked for Norwich Union about 3 years ago.
They are a good company to work for, decent salary with good benefits (holidays, pension, sick pay etc)
I worked at their offices on Eccelsall Road and also Infirmary road, which is the Healthcare division.

You would be better applying through a recruitment agency, as they tend to take people on a temporary basis first off, which 9 times out of 10 will lead to a permanent contract.

Kellys do still recruit for NU so you could try them.

I work at the Pomona although currently on maternity leave and I love my job becuase I work in a really great team. Sad as some people may find it, i am missing work and my colleauges. There are some good benefits to being perm staff.
If you know someone who works there they could always recommend you for a job (and get £250 if you get taken on).

Have you tried Pertemps? They offered me a perm position once for
the N Union!

I have been to Kelly Services and they have got me an interview this week so fingers crossed I will be starting in January.

I always thought the money was rubbish when I worked there. :(

But the social side of it is great, and there are I have worked in much worse places before. My flatmate is still there now!

My friend works there and enjoys it. He also seems to get promoted every other week - he's very clever and a hard worker, and takes on a lot of overtime - but it shows that if you've got the right qualities they do recognise it and let you progress.

That depends on the job and the level but I'd guess a minimum of £5.50/£6 an hour at the most basic level.

my mate "nathan" worked at norwich union for about a year and told me it was an utter **** hole full of boring losers...


this is purely the opinion of 'Nathan' though.

I can highly recommend NU as an employer. They are a fair company to work for (if you actually want to work and not prat about all day).

Been their a long time and scope for movement within the company and development up the career family is actively encouraged.

I was interviewed on Monday and I start a permanent position at Norwich UNion on February the 6th.

They recruit for temp and perm at Norwich Union I think.

I'm delighted.

i worked for norwich union at eccy road and infirmary, and they were both crap jobs - very boring work, but the benefits were good. But if callcentre work is what your looking for good luck u might find it better than i did ;)
