Hi i was in exactly the same postition a few years ago, working approx 60 hours a week in the hospitality industry. what i decided to do was re train whilst i worked. so i did an EDCL course to help with my IT Skills and therefore my employability.

Anyway to cut a long story short im now working in a school about to embark on a PGCE course next sept.

It is a difficult process, but once you have the courage to speak out and take some action, the rest comes easier. I would maybe, start volunteering at places in music industry start opening some doors and seeing the truth of the industry, maybe find a different job in hospitality with regular hours to give yourself to think about your future path and follow your dreams.

Hope that helps.

I trained as a chef at collage at 17 passed my city and guilds and worked in catering for 6 yrs.
I wasted all that time. all my friends were going out at night having fun and i was stuck at work. I had money, and my daytimes free and all my mates were at work.
I regret it. I left catering and have never looked back even when ive had a wobble on the job front.
Do it now. Follow your dream now while you can and if it dont work out you can go back to catering.
hope it helps

yep i did catering as well and i had a small child as well its really hard work and i used to love it but it soon wore off i now have another job thats loads better it was scary as i didnt know how to do anything else but its worked out nicely now.

your catering quilifacations will always be there and if you decide what ever you choose to do isnt for you then you can always fal back on these and go back to catering but think the first reply of re training is the best idea tbh

good luck hun:thumbsup:
