I'm thinking of taking my girlfriend out for a meal before christmas, to show her how much i appreciate her.

I'm looking for a really nice restaurant none of the ones at the centertainment park (which arn't bad at all) i'm looking for maybe a quiet oriental place or something any ideas:)

If it's definitely something oriental you're after, then Canton Orchard in Ranmoor is highly recommended, though pricey. There's loads of good places on London Road: Wasabi Sabi if sushi's your thing - really nice food and good service (was pretty relaxed when I was there last too) - Bahn Thai down the end is good also (though probably not that quiet!). Probably New Zing Vaa off the moor is one of the best oriental places I've been to...

Cafe Guru (Indian) off West Street....don't know the road name...it'll be in the Yellow Pages though. Really, really good curries (and I'm not a big curry fan). Very very nice indeedy. Not too expensive and very nice inside.

Hui Wei on Glossop Road is a very nice and modern Chinese restaurant with good food, pleasant staff and usually a reasonable bill at the end of the meal.
