You're clearly a man who lacks any taste and discernment, who has no understanding of quality - your opinion means less than nothing to me.
StarSparkle
Agent Gypo 15-12-2005, 13:47 Roy Keane is not even the best footballer in Scotland, never mind England.
And it is also very debatable whether Celtic are still the best team in Scotland.

Anyone who thinks Roy Keane is the best midfielder in the country and Celtic are the best team in the country doesn't have a grasp of reality.
You're clearly a woman who shouldn't get involved in talking about things you don't understand..don't you have some hair to brush, or some nails to paint???

Oh for heaven's sake grow up and stop being so childish, Wibbles - you really are a sad case.
It takes such a big man to throw around such insults, doesn't it?
To anyone who has half a brain and any knowledge of football, it should be quite obvious I am talking on a mythic level, referring to Celtic's great history as a football team of the first order, and not of their recent form. That Celtic were the first British team to win the European Cup should really speak for itself.
ok, so I employed some slight braggadocio and hyperbole in my original post, as is par for the course when talking about favourite football teams. If I'd thought anyone was going to take me literally word for word, I would of course have modified what I said, and taken all the passion out of it in the process.
What a sad little nit-picker you are, Wibbles - doesn't your job give you enough of an opportunity to be a jobsworth, making the world that little bit sadder and smaller for the people around you?

*sense of humour bypass alert*
Who exaclty has taken wording too literally here??...typical!!
I know when I was typing my initial responses they were in jest.
Wibbles- agreed - he IS good- just not as good as he was- lampard takes the best footballer in england accolade now im afraid!!!

Have you had a sense of humour bypass or what???
Breathe, relax and realise it was all meant in jest you silly little girl. :loopy:
Of course it was all meant in jest :loopy: Yeah, right - whatever you say, Wibbles
You were the one who got shown up as a fool, so you try to pass off your offensive, patronising comments as a 'joke'. Well the joke's on you, pal - pathetic excuse for a man.

Yeah the jokes on me....whooo...how will I ever deal with your rantings...oh no I feel so "shown up"
Ok folks, please lay aside the barbed tongues and get back to discussing the footballing talents of Mr Keane and / or Celtic without embarking on name calling!
Joe
Yes Dad :D :D
Roy Keane's past it, Celtic are a good team...in Scotland...nuff said...the 2 should make the perfect partnership.

Have you ever had an adult conversation with anyone in your life? Didn't think so.
And your wit - it astounds me. How do you think up such merry quips?

Aren't I right in assuming on of the shareholders is personally paying part of his wages. For someone that supposedly always wanted to play for Celtic, it's good to see that he wasn't prepared to take a pay cut to fulfill this ambition.
well at least lennon knows he won't be getting most of the stick come the next derby!!!
Roy Keane Signs for Celtic
Unlucky Celtic!
On the positive side, I can feel the premiership becoming a better place already now he's gone!
As for him being the best midfielder in the country - I'm sorry but he's never been that, not even when he was at his prime...
...which he certainly isn't anymore!
Dirty, fouling sack-of-kak should have been banned for life along time ago!

hhmm- im going to go out on a limb and say your a leeds fan?
gina1970 15-12-2005, 18:54 He's only gone to Celtic ( spit!, Spit! ), cos he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal won't have him and Real Madrid will be lucky if they finish high enough in their league to qualify.

what a silly coment..... did you know rangers are the first team ever to get past the group stages this season from scotland......
real madrid made an offer to him..... and will easily finish in top 3 (i think its top 3 in spain that qualify for champs league) where as celtic didnt even get past the preliminary stages this year.
it has always been highly documented keane would like to finish his career at celtic, and now it looks like he will

one word describes this coment
"ridiculous"
gina1970 15-12-2005, 19:14 I'm a Rangers supporter Robbie and i'm not holding my breath for us to progress much further, going on our form this season.
I can't see what all the fuss is about Rangers being the 1st Scottish club to reach the last 16. Of course I'm pleased but if you remember, Celtic were the 1st Club to win the European Cup. Only the name of the competition has changed.
In answer to your comment, Celtic's form is way better than Real Madrid's and they have a stable management which is why I said Roy chose Celtic.
It certainly didn't have anything to do with the weather or £'s;)
PS This is gina70's hubby.

before we start, in no way was i singling out the post because it was made by a female.........
anyways..... nice to see a ger on the forum, and good luck on your improving your form this season......
yes celtic was the first british team to win "the european cup" and although yes they have in effect changed the name (and the how you progress etc) it was a long time since that this happened.
although madrids management is a lot less stable than.... well pretty much any place in the world, they are always up there with the favourites to win it, as they have one of the best resources of players available.
the only reason celtics form is better than madrid is compared to the opposition, you have 12 teams in the SPL, only 3 are decent (yes rangers have a false position as it stands) where as the li liga, has 20 sides, all capable of beating the majority of sides in the world, it is such a strong league, and in many respects a lot stronger than the premiership. never mind the SPL.
although madrid offered him a contract (so did juve dont forget) i think roy wanted to join his childhood team, and also knows his place would be guaranteed in the SPL, unlike the other footballing sides wanting to take him on
gina1970 15-12-2005, 19:33 Fair comment Robbie.
By the way i wasn't implying you were sexist, I was just covering my a*se for when gina comes on. LOL

oh pleeease- he is good but i can easily name 5 players off the top of my head who are better!!!
rooneys day will come though if he doesn't self destruct!
Guderian 16-12-2005, 13:18 Perhaps, but are they playing in England?
I can think of a couple, but not 5 better than him in the Premiership. And certainly not at his age.
emmwalker 16-12-2005, 15:25 think keane signing for us is going to bring interesting times.....
not sure how much he was actually wanted by the manager and team- the wee man has been very quiet about the arrival of mr keane and his place in the squad. Im hoping lennon wont be knocked out of the squad as he's having a good spell. im also concerned that bad feeling will be spread by the eagerness of dermot to top up mr keane's wages (this will probably push his wages above the rest of the teams, but i dont know this for a fact) when the money could have been better spent on extending and imroving stilian petrov's contract.

keane will be on at least £80-90 grand a week easily!
emmwalker 16-12-2005, 15:34 deal is believed to be about £40 000 a week (according to the bbc news website)
