Everyone should put ICE as a contact in their mobile phone.

ICE = In Case of Emergency.

ICE followed by the number to contact if you're dead or injured.

Keep Kool with ICE.

I think most people have Mum or Dad in the phone, and 9/10 people would ring these number in an emergency.

I think 'Mum' will suffice for me.

If you put the same number in your phone twice, but under different "names" your phone doesn't display a name when they call as it doesn't know which one to use..............

In Case Of Emergency for me I would hope it would be 999 first.

Might not be good if your parents are getting on a bit.

Personally I'd want someone to contact my missus first.

It's 999 that would use ICE.

Anyway, this is all just tempting fate. Knowing my luck I would get run over by a tram 10 minutes after putting ICE in my phone.

Then someone will ask why you got the phone number for the person who Installed your In Car Entertainment system in your phone.

I have an issue here because Vanilla Ice is a mate of mine and this may cause confusion.

The last thing I need in an emergency is someone with a back to front baseball cap and baggy trousers to come round the corner and shout "Stop, collaborate and listen"

Does not work when they have been dead for thirty years. Yes older people have iPhones !

TBF I would expect that most people would bring up the recent calls list and use the first named contact, I know I would

99% of phones have key locks so this is pointless.

If I hadn't read this thread, I wouldn't have known that in a phone contacts list ICE means "in case of emergency". I'm doubting many others would either, it just sounds like a nickname or a business name.

Surely "Next of kin" would be a more useful name?

The paramedics and the a&e staff know what it means - thats what matters.
