View Full Version : Bathroom fitting - Can anyone recommend someone?
Has anyone had a bathroom fitted by someone local in sheffield.
If so, would you recommend them?
I'm having trouble finding someone to modernise my bathroom. The only person who seemed to know what they were talking about when taking a look has quoted nearly 10k for the work. I'd like to get a few more quotes to find out if that is reasonable.
You could try Loxley Bathrooms - they did ours and did a very good job, though it was expensive but we did go for a freaky bath.
Wouldn't recommend Creative Interiors - they came, measured up, then forgot that we had a seperate loo, and the plan had everything shoehorned into the main bathroom.
For tiles the place by safeway (terrafirma I think) has a really good selection.
Kirky's thread made me remember this one, it's the 3rd one I ever started.
We ended up doing most of the bathroom ourselves. Here are a few pics.

gravity-slave 07-06-2005, 19:33 After three failed attempts, false promises and poor designs (including the previously mentioned company), we are due to have someone start on the 4th July. Nearly 18 months in the planning!!!
If you are serious about a recommendation and not in a hurry, PM me some time around the middle of July and I can let reveal all - and hopefully a glowing recommendation!!!

It depends on what you want doing. If for example you had a largish bathroom and wanted a complete rip out and replacement, requiring a substantial amount of plumbing and electrical work, plus all new fittings and tiling, then 10k is not ridiculously high - although I suspect you might get quotes of 2 or 3k cheaper than this, if you shop around. I had mine done recently and it cost around 7k
jojojoanna1 08-06-2005, 22:59 phone this guy he is so cheap and did an exelent job im so so so impressed he is called stuart and his number is 07879408926 trust me . i can send you photos if ya want
youwhatref 09-06-2005, 04:58 You may be better getting things done seperatly. I know Kirky may have a number of a lad who can remove/install a bathroom suite. Then choose someone to do the tiling.
May take a little longer to organise but you should save yourself a fortune.

that was originally posted in Feb 04, and 2 posts down I said that we did it ourselves 6 months ago!
LordChaverly 09-06-2005, 10:08 I know, but the thread popped up again recently and I thought others contemplating a bathroom renovation might be interested

It is Terra Firma - they also have a branch in Chesterfield. Strangely, the tiles I bought were about £8/9 more expensive per square metre in Sheffield than Chesterfield. Needless to say, I ordered them at the Chesterfield branch and collected them from the Sheffield branch...!
i need this info too. thanks
Quick update, my bathroom is still nice, and I'm amazed that it was mid 2005 when it was all done.
