theripsaw 12-12-2005, 12:57 I think the bar staff make a pub what it is, and the easier on the eye they are the better! Taking inspiration from the "I fancy a stranger" thread I thougjht it would be good to find out where the best lookers amongst bar staff ply their trade. My nomination goes to a girl in the Malin Bridge. I dont know her name as I've only been in once but she stuck in my mind a bit... dark curly long hair, about 20 yrs old.
Any other nominations? I suppose in the interests of equal opportunity, male bar staff can be nominated as well... (but females are more welcome :) )

Lozzylozenge 12-12-2005, 13:14 I used to work at the Yew tree inn at Malin bridge/hillsboro behind the bar about 2 yrs ago, with a barman called Jonathan. He was really fit, all the girls fancied him, we were quite good mates at one point but then he moved to lincoln uni and we lost touch. So if your reading this jonathan, or anyone who knows him, tell him i said hi.

I used to sit and talk to her for ages, but like most, she shot off to uni!

Not been in Malin for a couple of months so i cant think who it could be, perhaps she is new.
Maybe you should go in and start talking to her, theres nothing worse than a bloke who is too scared to confront you and show his feelings. Whats the worse she can say.....No thanks?

Where will all the kiddies go now? that means more trouble on the streets of hillsboro! cos if they close the ball down, they'll have no where to go and therefore are more likely to get drunk and cause trouble on the streets/Hillsboro park/wisewood cadet field/loxley common/quarry etc etc!!!

well... ive just read this thread and think i need to go to the malin bridge inn, im sure im missing out!! i pick up there in my cab all the time, (mercury, they use us) but never noticed the staff, i wanna join in !!

lovabulrogue 06-01-2006, 19:10 I remember drinking in the late 80's early 90's in the Masons at Boro corner, and there were two girls who worked there when Hugh Dowd had it (don;t know if he still has) I am sure they were pot washers or something ? I remember one had brown hair and the other blonde, and they were very pally with each other (may have been sisters) I was 19/20 at the time, and they were approx 18 -ish. I can't recall their names, but would say Hello and smile at them scross the pub, and me and my friend were convinced they fancied us (as you do) but daren;t make a move.
So, God knows where they are now, if anyone knows, or you are reading this, get in touch.

I second that!! it is a cracking place with some of the friendliest hardworking bar staff in sheffield (most of which are my mates!!) hardly obscure, how big do you think sheffield city centre is, or are we talking run of the mill cheesey pubs/bars!!

Absolutely - drinks are cheaper on weekdays too.
I mean, a DnB cocktail bar? What a great idea! Sharkeys is my favourite place in the area, and no arsey staff at all, and no tacky townie dress code either, more to the point. And it retains a lovely atmosphere. It also probably has the widest range of cocktails anywhere in Sheffield - almost 150 I reckon!
Hardly obscure! It's just off Glossop Rd/West St next to Varsity and that!

Going there Friday night for a meal and for a change (mate's birthday and finally dragging out the smug marrieds!) Will let you know my opinion. :) It is nice to have something to look at. Always a major consideration in where you drink.

I'd rather bar staff were efficient than good looking, they are only there to sell you drinks after all, who cares what they look like ?
And, having worked behind a bar, I can tell you that having people letch over you all night is not realy all that flattering.

yes i know his mum too. Did you work on the bar or in the kitchen? I dont really go much anymore i think it has gone downhill a bit. It used to be better about 7 years agowhen it was still owned by the brewery.
Lozzylozenge 19-01-2006, 12:59 Yeah I think it has gone downhill. I used to work on the bar at first and then in the kitchen mainly but on the bar at times. So I know all the regulars like Martin and Phil and Darren.
Do you know kathy then aswell, dont think she works there anymore, but she worked there for years.
I think Ian is single again actually, well he was the last I heard.

Lozzylozenge 19-01-2006, 13:23 yeah I know her brother lee too, he used to work in the kitchen for a bit, he is really good at his job. I once worked in the kitchen with him doing a buffet for Kaths birthday. He can get pretty scary at times when he's working, but thats part of being a chef. He is a really nice lad though.
You probably have seen me then, I have blonde hair, loadsa makeup :hihi:

yes i do somtimes. I miss some of the regulars and some of the staff i used to work with like rob, ian and richard, but there was a lot of back biting. Mainly caused by one person but i wont mention names on that one.

And I can remember Richard too, He is one of the soundest blokes I have evr met. Not seen him for ages though, last I heard he was working somewhere on the railways.

As for richard i think he is still on the railways too. we used to be really good friends when we worked together. He is one in a million.

At the risk of getting things back on topic; the staff at All Bar One are particularly attractive.
There used to be a couple of well fit men working at Ha Ha, but that was last summer. (They may not have been all that fit, but it was the rubber aprons they had to wear that got my vote)!!
