He presents the best reality TV programmes ever!

(the birds are nesting)

Seems you can't pass a bit of field without thinking of him squatted in a corner, whispering (so as not to scare away the starlings), "Just look at how they behave in amongst the others... Spectacular (hissed)"

Is bill Oddie a natural National Treasure? Or is he trying too hard?

I love Bill Oddie. He made me laugh so much as a kid in the "goodies"..... I will go along with your status recommendation..... He should be a national treasure and His wildlife programmes are fantastic.

I'm glad to hear it.

Is there somewhere we can nominate him for NT status?

Could we contact the Queen perhaps?

(I used to love the "Goodies" although, as I was so young, my main memory was that they were on before Doctor Who and that they had a giant cat and a giant goose.)

That is all I can remember.

The giant goose bombing them had me in stitches..... I am laughing now thinking about it.... I will look into a nomination status for him, I think you are right..... He does deserve it. You need to search too..... as for the Queen.... you need to write to the prime minister..... She has no real power these days.... She is just a figure head.

I think Bill Oddie is great and is definitely a national Treasure!

I look forward to spring (badger) watch, summer watch and any other programs he's involved in.

Oh just found a Bill Oddie yahoo group some of you more committed fans might find interesting.

Also, does anyone know of the origins of this small song?

When ever anyone mentions Bill Oddie in front of some of my friends they all bust out into chorus and sing:

Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie
Rub your hands all over my body.

I've got a feeling it comes from some sketch show.

Unquestionably, England will be a lesser place without him.
I would like to meet him once in my life, just to say thanks for the entertainment and info.

He is much better as a solo presenter. The likes of Kate Humble bring out the worst in him, making him act like a silly schoolboy. Alone he is knowledgable with a hint of humour thrown in

I disagree Mini. I think him and kate Humble are terrific together. But yes, Bill is a national treasure. He can even make nature sound sexy.:hihi::hihi:

Did you see his appearance on Breakfast News when he was rude and boorish and slagged off the Daily Mail as "Total Toss"?

Here it is. (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DEmT0zzWALE) Brilliant!

Bill Oddie isn't a patch on Michaela Strachan from Country File.......I can remember coming in from the nightclubs in the late 80's and early 90's - watching Michaela strutting her stuff on The Hitman & Her......Bill Oddie wouldn't have done it for me.....he just reminds me that when I get to his age - NEVER wear Khaki shorts :hihi:
