does anyone remember on christmas day having christmas pudd with silver threepenny bits wrapped in greasproof paper ,i saved mine and when i was 16 i was given a silver charm bracelet for christmas, i had them all silver soldered on to it,i still have it somewhere:thumbsup:

We had them - and 'sold' them back to my Dad for half-a-crown :)

Yep! I remember that quite well Roughy but I don't think ours were wrapped up though, just thinking when my kids were little we always made them wash there hands when they had handled money. makes ya laugh don't it how the world has changed.

Our J&I used to put sixpenses in the Christmas pud,
(showing my age here) they'd never get past the risk assessment these days. :rolleyes:

Yes, sixpences, thats what we had in ours, unwrapped too.

Washing hands after handleing money ? never heard of such a thing back then, you just didn't fit in if you didn't have a dirty circle around your neck either:hihi:
