trying to delete some files when i go to search for files& folders
freezes ive re started pulled plug out run scan disk, nothing
seems to work. help

If you are using XP, then try a system restore to before the problem started, and see whether that works.

If your hard disk is full, it may be that there isn't enough memory to run Search. Could you not just delete them from My Documents and similar folders.

Program files should be deleted via Add/Remove Programs, and not from the Search result.
