I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about Mrs Migs. just of West Street? It seems to have remained shut for quite a while now and I was wondering if anyone knew why? Cheers

Yeah, I would also be interested in knowing what's going on. There is normally a notice in the window if they go on holiday but I couldn't see one when I went for a bacon sarnie the other day...

I've heard on the grapevine.....that the cafe is to be sold. So whether this is the reason its closed i'm not sure. I've had many a nice fatty fry-up in there.

The only cafe owners i know that cooked vegetarian food in pure lard,maybe its as well it does close.

Miggs was definately the best greasy spoon in Sheffield. We used to go up there for a late breakfast regularly, but the past few times we've been it's been closed. It doesn't look like it's closed down, because all the furniture is still in place, but it's been closed for a few weeks now, so I guess there's not much chance of it reopening.

I loved going for a late breakfast before my duty started, pity if it closes for good.

Remember where you heard it first (if you don't know already ;))... Mrs. Migs has sold her cafe and it will shortly (within 2 weeks) be opening as a Merrill's Coffee Shop. There is already a Merrill's in Rotherham on Church Street in case you wanted a sneak preview of what it will be like.

Perhaps in return for this free (and advanced) plug they will give me a free coffee or something...!

Seriously though - I have no idea. It would probably be a big mistake if they didn't do some good breakfast food, after all that was Mrs. M's main earner. Does anyone know Mrs. Miggs? If so then PM or e-mail me.

That's what I'm afraid of.

If anyone does know Mrs Miggs tell her she'll be sadly missed. She was like a kind aunty to me.

the place i used to work for delivered breadcakes to mrs.migs cafe and they told me shes selling cos theres too many sandwich shops/takeaways/cafes around that are competeing for buisness.....
