As far as I know, there's nothing along the lines of Cheddar, or Wensleydale, but there are probably a few local cheese producers. Manor Dairy (part of Sheffield Wildlife Trust and The Green Estate) produces cheese (Feta, and a cream cheese, either plain or with various herbs) in Sheffield.
You can buy it at Heeley City Farm, the Farmer's Market, and various small shops throughout Sheffield like Beanies. We're trying to get the supermarkets to distribute local produce as well.

Hope that helps.

Of course i'd recommend Manor Lodge Urban Dairy Cheese to be your first choice - go buy lots!

but also Chatsworth House sell various cheeses: http://www.gustum.com/welframe.htm

i think its about £3.25 for a nice jar - feta style that it, its really tasty, we had some for xmas. There's other ones at different prices. If you buy direct from the dairy they give you a discount, at least they used to. PM me for their number.
