Vauxhall seem to have led the way with dual fuel cars from the manufacturer, but it is possible to have cars converted. It isn't unusual for them to utilise the spare wheel cavity to accomodate the tank, so if you have room to lug a spare about somewhere else, or you never get more than a bus ride away from home, I suppose it's do-able

I had a Vauxhall Omega estate that had been converted to use LPG the tank sat in the spare wheel well, £15 to fill it up and about 120 miles around town and 200 on a run. it was easy to switch between the two fuels (just the press of a button on top of the steering column). it was converted by a company called D.C.M.S. at Barrow Hill just outside Chesterfield.

I run a Grand Cherokee Jeep 4.0 High Output.

I have an LPG tank in the back and get around 14or15mpg on GAS (at half petrol price).

The equipment should be professionaly fitted especially for insurance purposes.

Their is a slight loss of power (not that noticeable).

From details i researched the power loss can be as much as 15% and reportedly up to 10% more fuel use litre per litre compared to petrol.

But having said all that i pay 34.9 per litre from Morrisons on the parkway so it still stacks up in LPG's favour.

It normally takes upto 3 years to recover the cost of the installation and then every day past that you make some extra dosh.

If you have any mores questions please do ask as i did some extensive research on this before i purchased my Jeep (already converted and took some finding)
