Ok I unfortunately timed childbirth very very badly.

DS is turning 11 two days after christmas. Venues for a birthday celebration are limited as they don't do bookings over the christmas week.

He isn't into jelly and icecream. His dream birthday would be to be front row at a Kiss gig or some other band who started their career way before even I was leaving school.

What could I do to mark his birthday?

Bowling
Cinema
Swimming
Ice skating

Go-cart racing will be ok for an 11 year old won't it ?

Indoor climbing - I saw on TV recently an indoor golf range - virtual courses - something to burn a bit of energy off

I wish. He wanted to see twisted sister but hes too young. Most of the bands he is into are a little too erm.. alternative and they wouldn't welcome an 11yr old on the scene. :D

How about taking him and a few friends to a video arcade?
My nephews loved that when they were that age.

Go karting is such a blast! You get a real buzz from it. It's the best fun you can have with your clothes on, although I doubt that's of any value to your 11 yr old!
