I've stayed in a really nice B and B. Cheap (£20 per person I think!?) and small and friendly. Only thing - it may not be central enough for you, its in Ecclesall Rd South...

details are: Gulliver Bed and Breakfast
167 Ecclesall Road South, S11 9PN
Telephone: 0114 262 0729
3 miles SW of city centre

Hope this helps!

The tourist office have a list of affordable(ish) places. They've all been star rated too so come up to good standards. most b and b's are between £18 and £30 per night. The Riverside Hotel is around £20 to £40, pretty central too although possibly towrds a rougher end of town which might put some people off.

Just come back from a 4 night stay at Riverside Court - I'd recommend it - cheap (£39 pn for a double room), clean and friendly. I like the way there's a kitchen on each floor so you can self-cater if you want! It's not the Ritz but it's homely. Wouldn't want to drink in the bar tho...

Which ones are the cheapest and how do i contact them? Which ones are best?

Used to be a hotel in the city centre???? How long has it been since you were last in the city centre!!

City Centre Hotels (that I can think of!)

Novotel (opposite Hallam Uni)
Cutlers Hotel (behind Natwest Bank High St.)
Hilton Sheffield (sheaf Quays)
R.V. Holiday Inn (Near Hilton again, access next to Hotel Bristol)
Hotel Bristol (Opposite Hilton above Esso)
Ibis (near old Sheaf Market Site)
Travel Inn (up near Snig Hill Copshop)

Not sure of any good privately/family run B&B's though.

Cutlers Hotel (behind Natwest Bank High St.)

I think its that one i am looking for.

Is that the cheapest then?

I know of a few, but never knew which ones were the cheapest really.

cutlers is a nice enough hotel - make sure you get a non smoking room otherwise it will smell 'heavy'.

do a google search - im sure its got a website.
