The best thing for a cream carpet, is a dark coloured rug to stop the stains :P

We used a Vax machine until recently but got tired of humping it about and it is awkward to store.

Last year we bought a Bissel which just looks like an upright 'Hoover' type cleaner and it has been great.

Bought it off the net from QVC,cheaper than the shop prices.

Hope this helps.

I am currently borrowing an ancient vax to try and rescue our carpet from my grandson ....

These Bissel things, are they the old fashioned ones that just apply carpet shampoo or do they suck up the liquid too?

No i got a upright bissel and they great, they wash and suck up liquid too and leave's your carpet dry when you use it.Not bad on price ither my was only £40 last year and it works wonders on my mum cream carpet and she got one of these vax that you have to lug arround, and even she says my cleans better then hers.

Try Stainbusters - they come and clean your carpet and make it like new in a couple of hours - and they are good. 0800 137772

Thank you. I will look into an upright Bissell. It sounds like just the job if it is only £40.
