I have a 2nd hand PC lined up, and the seller came and set up.
When starting, the XP was loading up OK, but then the monitor kept clicking off, as if to use his words, it was not compatible.
He said it was OK with his screen.
My previous PC uses windows 98.
Any ideas please?
After turning the PC on, repeatedly press the F8 key until you get the start up menu. From this menu, select VGA mode. From here you can select a suitable resolution and refresh rate for your monitor.
Sorted
Thanks- will try, or HE may have already done so.
The PC and monitor are a few miles apart until next week.
All ideas appreciated!!

Can you try on a different monitor?
Yep will do tomorrow.
He said his PC (the one I'm buying) was OK on his monitor.
But no good on mine when he was trying to set up for me at my house.
Tomorrow I'm taking my PC AND monitor to his home.
