We joined sky in 2001 for their digital tv, We had problems with sound and got the "turn it off at the plug" line for about 3 years. Then we went from Bt to sky for the telephone line rental and for the calls,, Then we had problems of the line quality echoing and static, We might aswell be using a phone line from mars lol. Then we were daft enough to sign up for sky notverybroadband. When we first had broadband from sky we used to get anywhere from 80kbps to 228kbps which is PATHETIC Then they told us to turn the router off/on and blamed our new pc lol. In the last two years we have been getting anywhere from 350kbps to 525kbps ******WOW weren't we lucky******
Now we are really lucky and get 1.1mbps down, but in the last week it has been going down to 300-350kbps at night when we go on our internet, if we unplug the router and plug it in again it always says something different which cannot be right. Now this is my question to the bright people of the Sheffield forum, We live in Shiregreen one of the biggest areas in Sheffield, our Exchange is at Ecclesfield and our line from the Exchange to our box down the road is Crap, so how do we get sky or bt that sky pays for the line rental to pay for a new main line to Shiregreen. We have been told by Bt Engineers that the line from the Exchange to Shiregreen is old so how do go about getting them to renew the line. Where I and 95% of Shiregreen live we do not have Virgin Cable for some strange reason(why?) I also bought a ps3 that require's you to download stuff upto 1.5Gb for now(maybe more in future) which if you have not tried is a pain in the backside when you have slow internet. I am peed off so much I can't even go with virgin because they have decided not to lay it down on sicey. Please how can we or I get Virgin to lay the cable down in Shiregreen or get tight BT and Sky to renew the old lines please give Advice PPlleeaaaasssseeeeee

Sorry for the long and depressing post:mad::mad:

I had a similar story but with Talk Talk.
Bt Broadband 1 mb - before 2mb became minimum. Changed to TT for price down to 225k for 18months they had me jumping through hoops and blaming my equipment.
Changed back to BT, now surprisingly 2mb broadband.(Thats the max our line can handle)
