The year is 1844. A man answers a newspaper advertisement inviting him to apply to join a ship bound for arctic waters, to explore the unknown wastes north of Greenland. What draws him on to undertake this journey? Is there something in his past life that pushes him to leave home and travel to this unknown, inhospitable place?

This is a story of adventure on the arctic ice, the search for the Northwest Passage, of man’s heroic struggle against alien conditions – and his mental struggle with his own past.

BBC Radio Sheffield Review:
“A terrific performance by David Frederickson in a really fascinating play full of wit and love that I didn't expect from the title. If it's not the most unexpectedly joyous night out I'll have this year it'll do to be going on with.” - Rony Robinson, BBC Radio Sheffield

David Frederickson
Trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic. He has appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Birmingham Rep, the West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Manchester Royal Exchange, Southwold Summer Theatre and in 2005 made his West End debut in Nigel Planer’s On The Ceiling at the Garrick Theatre.
