fifi_bowen   10 #1 Posted March 20, 2011 Can anyone recommend a heater for a tent or a van. I will be camping in the next month and it's still a little chilly in the evenings.  Any advice?
 Share this content via...
megalithic   10 #2 Posted March 20, 2011 I can't recommend one, but stay away from the little ones that plug in the cig lighter from go Outdoors, they are crap, wouldn't even heat my little escort van.
 Share this content via...

DaFoot   10 #4 Posted March 25, 2011 We just got back from a few days camping (in a tent). No problem with the cold, just make sure you have a decent sleeping bag and sleeping mat.  Heaters + tents = bad news.
 Share this content via...

Wear plenty of clothes and have a decent may and sleeping bag.
 Share this content via...
Darth Vader   10 #6 Posted March 26, 2011 I've got a little one that runs of a gas canister - very effective, we used to put it on a couple of bricks, but after seeing a tent go up a couple of years ago, I won't risk it.  Airing your tent well every day helps get rid of that 'damp' feeling, I think.  If you'd got electric hook up, and it was constantly supervised, and not on for long, something small might do the job.  If not, it's going to the loos and filling up your hot water bottles from the hot taps! And plenty of layers.
 Share this content via...
Becky B Â Â 30 #7 Posted March 26, 2011 You could take my housemate - he's always warm! Â Seriously though, we went a couple of weeks ago, and if you have a decent sleeping bag it's fine. Â The thought of a heater in a tent just sounds dangerous to me. Plus if you wanted to be that warm all night you'd have to leave it on while you sleep...
