hi i used to work at the above hotel as a chambermaid before i had my children think they ve changed name now used to be called psalter tavern did anyone else used to work there on here there was abit of back stabbing when i was there the bar manager was called paul and it had 31 rooms

I never worked there but spent best part of two years staying there in early 80's. Had a great time was hoping to contact some of the old crowd. Do you remember Julie? I think she was under manager at one time

hi i left in 1997 as i was pregnant worked there about 4yrs only julie i no was in kitchen head chefs wife isabell was in charge as housekeeper and mrs gardener think that was her name was in charge of hotel then retired do you remember anyone else? bye

Thanks for your reply Den. I remember Mrs Gardener she must have been some age when she retired. As I said I only stayed in the hotel and that was 1981 - 83 with occasional visits about 1985 - 87 I only really knew the hotel and reception staff, I can remember a Karen, Helen, Mandy and I think a there was a Kristy. The only chef I knew was called Dave. I only remember him because we use to drink together in the bar there and boy could he put it away.:D I mainly eat out when I stay at hotels.

It had a great atmosphere at that time just like Fauwty Towers, but I loved my stay there.

I had some great times in Sheffield found it to be a great place. I visit occasionally now but I think the sparkle has gone out of the city, maybe its me. I don't stay at the Roslyn for that reason Maybe I don't want the old memories spoilt.
