Dear all,
Has anyone got any advice for me - I am trying to get a new PC game to run on my Laptop but an error message says it does not support my ATI 130m driver? Can anyone tell me how I go about sorting this out?

I have XP and have just got the internet set up at home too and since messing with this driver I have changed the screen settings also so the desktop is now very basic graphics - I have tried adjusting the properties of this and it doesnt work and also the driver is enabled so it should be back to normal I would have thought but it is still a pretty basic display - help!

Can I update my Graphics driver my downloading anything online?

Thanks,
xsarx

It sounds like you have over written the driver.

You can try Roll Back in the device manager and go back to your previous one.

Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Dispay Adaptors > your device > Driver > Roll Back Driver

Or you can download a good copy from ATI and reinstall the driver.

you need to find out what graphics chip is in your laptop, then go to ati's site and have a look for the latest drivers for that chip, then download it.

uninstall your old driver by going to device manager, display adaptors, driver, then click uninstall, then install your latest driver

Lots of laptops have well known brand video cards in but that does not mean the standard drivers will work. The laptop I am using has an ATI 9600 video card. That card uses ATI detonator divers. You would think downloading the latest ATI detonator driver would be the thing to do. The card will only work with the Fujitsu Siemens ATI driver which is never updated. Best thing to do is go to the downloads page of drivers for the laptop, forget what card is in it and download the Laptop manufacturers driver. Tell us what make and model it is if you cant find it and we can have a look.
