Hmmm, sounds like a good one to me, don't know about the ginger beer though ! then i think that would make it a vodka gimlet.

LellyBee 29-11-2005, 22:59 Shot of amaretto, 3 shots of piping hot strong black coffee topped off with single cream – what could be a more perfect way to round off a Christmas feast

If you want to try this you need to start it very soon.
stuff required:
1 * sealable container for 2.5 ltrs of liquid
2 * 1Ltr bottle of vodka
1 * large bag of skittles
1 * Tbl spoon sugar (optional)
mixed fruit (optional)
How to make:
Open bag of skittles and remove all green ones
place remaining skittles in container (and add sugar if used)
poor vodka into container, seal and shake.
Leave for 4 weeks shaking container every 2/3 days.
In 4 weeks time sit back and enjoy a fruity vodka punch (with mixed fruit if added for a punch).
Warning!!!! The sugar in the skittles re-ferments with the vodka making it stronger. The optional sugar is added to make it EVEN stronger.
!!!!Warning!!!! keep out of reach of children
You can leave the green skittles in but that makes the liquid go a horrible brown colour, although it still tastes really good.
Enjoy, ModFather
LellyBee 30-11-2005, 07:05 I'm now wondering how on earth you came up with that one  sounds very potent though :D
koenigsinger 30-11-2005, 08:21 not driving anywhere christmas morning?
wake up to this....
champagne, brandy and a lump of brown sugar, in a champagne flute.....
repeat until hammered!!

Now thats more like it !:) By the way Poppins,do you have Guiness in the U.S.A ? If you have recovered from my former cocktail recipes(and your not flat on your back) try equal measures of Guiness and Champagne. We call it Black Velvet over here .
For those feeling left out cos they don't want to drink alcohol, my fave non-alcoholic cocktail:
Malawi Shandy (or so it's called in South Africa and Zimbabwe)
In a large tall glass, half fill with ice, then visually quarter fill with neat orange squash, add 1 tbsp Angostura bitters, then top up with equal quantities lemonade and ginger beer and add assorted chopped citrus fruit and a sprig of mint.
Allows you to potentially survive cooking the turkey without the usual resulting scars if you've had any of the other cocktails!
ModFather 01-12-2005, 00:21 not only can you do my vodka with skittles but also try it in the summer,
but substitute the the skittles for strawberrys.
very similar to the sloegin principal, but once you have created you're potion, freeze the strawberrys (they don't freeze properly because they are full of vodka) and use them as ice cubes.
another bingdrinking fenomonam from Max
try and enjoy:heyhey:
In a wine glass, single scotch, double pernod, top up with beer. Awsome!
Cliff Clavin 01-12-2005, 02:20 Ice cold glass out of freezer, take a can of well chilled Miller Lite, pour contents of can into glass and enjoy
This is probably the most refreshing drink i've had.

Some of us have to stay sober to drive rellies round at Christmas- and I REALLY disapprove of drink-driving, so not even a toast of champers for me if I need to drive.
