MorkandMindy 29-11-2005, 20:19 anyone got a window cleaner and if so how much do they charge?
please write down your house and price. ie 3 bed semi, 3 bed terrace etc....
Any window cleaners out there what do you charge???

p.s. also write the area where you live,
Aughton, 4 bed detached £5
hels1977 29-11-2005, 21:19 Wow, that's a lot of information you're after - your house type makes no difference between semis and terraces - window cleaners charge per window.
Probably 2.50-4.00 per month (1 clean) depending on area. Assuming maybe 3 windows front and 3 back.
Yellow pages - marvellous  Just phone up and ask - by far the easiest method ;)
Hillsborough, 3 bed terrace, £2.70, and he checks that everybody's OK on his way round, and fusses all the cats and calls help if there's something wrong, and he put up posters for me when one of my cats went missing, and he's a generally all round good egg.
thomsongirl 29-11-2005, 22:08 £2.70 in Hillsborough? That's really good. My window cleaner told me it was risting to £4.70 and he would be cleaning every 2 weeks in the summer and once a month in the winter. I told him I no longer required his services.
My windows are filthy and I really would like a window cleaner, but I'm not paying that amount of money for some of my windows to be cleaned (he doesn't clean them all).
7 quid for a three bed semi at High Storrs!

Do you have a conservatory?
That shoots the price up according to my window cleaner who is really miserable.

you get what you pay for..4.70 sound very reasonable to me
dieselbabe 30-11-2005, 08:03 I pay £2.50 every two weeks on my two bed semi detach house, and even tho its only a 2 bed house with bay windows and ive got a lot of windows and price is not bad to say i use to pay £4.00 every two weeks on a 2 bed house with less windows at my old house. And my sis pays £3.50 by same bloke and hers is 3 bed semi with a conservatory with upvc windows but that in eccelsfield area.

i actually edited my original reply as i thought it was a bit strong.
Hmm, we're paying what works out at about 90p a window but ours only comes round every couple of months. So, not only is he expensive from what you lot are saying, he's actually worse than useless because I can't even bump into him to sack him!
And another thing, why don't window cleaners wipe down cills any more? Mine are green and they should be white!

babychickens 30-11-2005, 16:22 kirky, do you do walkley? how much for a bog standard terraced house (no bays)? i just got rid of my window cleaner - nice guy, but one month the windows were dirtier after he'd been than they were before, and they didn't seem to be too interested in doing the back of the house either.

The posts are 5yrs old, they may not post anymore.
slimsid2000 22-06-2010, 15:09 What if a window cleaner was also a peeping tom? Could he combine his work and his hobbie and if so would he still get his ladders tax deductable?
Leah-Lacie 22-06-2010, 15:11 Mum pays £2 for a 3 bed at stradbroke, 9 windows, and he comes fortnightly
A&SCleaning 22-06-2010, 17:38 Just some infomation about window cleaning and pricing.!
1. Anyone can call themselves a window cleaner (1 man and his/her ladder) but are they following the HSE adivce on the use of ladders? Probably not!
2. Is he/she insured and will the insurance cover you (Home owner/The employer) if he/she has an accident or causes damage to or on your property? Most unregistered window cleaners won't have insurance.
3. Pricing! This depends on size and how much glass there is, difficulty of cleaning, methods of cleaning, if there is 1 or more property to clean in the area and where your property/properties are in relation to the company base.
Hope this helps..
Dizzyblonde 22-06-2010, 21:15 9.50 S8 but I do have 7 windows at the front and a glass porch plus five windows at the back.
