Just curious about peoples superstitions and where they come from. I will lists few of my bad luck superstitions -
Passing salt
Spilling salt
Crossing knives
Breaking mirror, of course
Whats yours??
Not too many here. I personally see superstition as a bit irrational but I still wonder about walking under ladders, saluting magpies, walking over 3 manholes in a row, crossing on the stairs and some others that I may have forgotten. Whether I do anything to avoid the ladder, manholes or salute the magpie is a different matter but the urge to do so is still present at the event.
Wierd! :loopy:
I don't think this is one...but i don't walk on three drains.
I don't walk under ladders.
Did you know of the superstition...on your wedding night, whoever falls asleep first will be the first one to pass away in the future....
My fella always does the magie thing...when you see a magpie, wave or some rubbish!
Gethical

I have a superstittion not to let people know what my superstition is on a message board so I cannot say...
D'oh! too late :p
Nope, not heard of the wedding night thing. Blokes usually kark it before their wives anyway as women tend to live longer for some reason.
Mind you after 40 years of marriage maybe some of them want to die first.
My Dad does the 'spilling salt' superstition and I used to copy him when I was younger.
I still catch myself doing it now.... :P
