The Ivory on Regent Terrace, just off West Street, Sheffield opened on Friday (November 25).

The Ivory has a vivacious yet relaxed contemporary atmosphere that spins an exciting mix of experiences - chic yet comfortable lounge bar, a wide selection of wines and stylish ales, tantalizing menus with taste sensations from traditional meals to trendy cuisine and live music.

Talented local and national instrumentalists will provide an eclectic mix of music styles from jazz, soul and modern to entertain with their own and popular music.

TWO local duos were the star attraction at the opening of the Ivory on Regent Terrace, just off West Street, in Sheffield.
The outstanding acts - vocalist Neil Hart with pianist Joe Milnes, who perform under the stage name of Mr Hart and Mr Tremendous; and jazz and soul singer Anna Harrison accompanied by Tim Graham on guitar - are the first of a packed programme of impressive and talented artists who will be entertaining customers at the chic yet comfortable lounge bar.
Local and national artists will entertain customers with an eclectic mix of music styles ranging from jazz, soul and modern in the vivacious yet relaxed contemporary atmosphere of the Ivory most days of the week.
Attractions at the Ivory include an electric mix of experiences with an extensive range of wines, stylish ales, cocktails and coffee and a tempting menu packed with taste sensations ranging from traditional meals to great cuisine, light bites and dishes that can be enjoyed alone or to share.
Cool colours and warm layers dominate the sleek and sophisticated style of the lounge bar. The Ivory has the comfort of lounge chairs and sofas contrasting with the impressive stainless topped bar, rustic brick, honey wood floors and a baby grand piano.

haha, sounds great but is that not a really, really politically incorrect name for a bar? :)

I think the Ivory is a great name - it really reflects the style of the lounge bar. The name is a hint about one of the attractions you'll find inside...a baby grand piano!

There's great live music, superb food and a brilliant atmosphere!

The Ivory opens Monday to Saturday 11am to 1pm and Sunday 12 noon to midnight.

Crikey, are you not limiting your market somewhat by only opening for 2 hours for the majority of the week?

Couldn't resist...

It looks as though it is where Casablanca's relocated to when they moved from Division Street.

I was being ironic in respect of your one woman ad campaign!

Regents Terrace is just past the Post Office. It's the small lane between the Lounge and the old Sinclairs building, which is currently being rebuilt.

I've been in the Ivory and was very impressed. Sheffield needs more places like this, which are a little more sophisticated and cater for the mid 20's mid 30's crowd.

I like the fact that it is just off the beaten track and not really part of the 'West Street' drag.

With the likes of The Ivory, Boho, Menzels and The Wig & Pen, we have some quality bars that Sheffield can be proud of.

Apparently there's a new pub open just off West Street called Ivory.

Just wondering if it's any good.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned!

Always keen to try new bars in Sheffield, my boyfriend, who is in his 30's, a smart lad, went to the Ivory Bar with his mate for a drink on Saturday, only to be turned away by the bouncers, for being male??? Firstly said they were too busy, then admitted that they only wanted ladies in. I can understand them wanting to avoid big gangs of lads, but 2 blokes out for a few quiet drinks? They should be encouraging new clientele, not turning them away, he's no chav!! Although, being female would probably be fine to check it out, don't think I'll bother now, they sound a little too pretentious for me! Just a few words of warning!!

Ignore Kat_1b, one bad experience does not make it a bad bar. Perhaps she should rate it when she actually gets through the doors !!!

I am a bloke and always get in, I know a lot of the male bar staff from Sharkeys go in for a drink in a group and they are not exactly what you would call 'smart' although they are well behaved and well mannered.

Its a great little bar and a welcome addition to the Sheffield scene, check it out for yourselves.

One good experience shouldn't make it a good bar either..that's the point of people posting on here whether their experience be good or bad.

thanks wibbles I agree, the whole point of the forum is for people to let others know about good and bad experiences. I'm not saying I'm right, just wanted to let people know it wasn't a good experience, so won't bother again.
