View Full Version : Teanby family- did you know them? helbco 29-11-2005, 10:42 1234567881 PopT 30-11-2005, 08:40 I remember a family of Teanby living at number 1 Grant Road in Owlerton. I think the son Gordon became a headmaster. Before thehouse clearances Grant Road was situated between Dutton Road and Beulah Road, just about where the swimming baths are on Penistone Road opposite the bottom of Hillsborough Park. I hope this info helps. Happy Days! thecliffe 09-03-2011, 13:44 I rember a Roy Teanby I think he used to work at T.W. Ward Ltd saville street in the sixties. Treatment 09-03-2011, 13:48 The name Andrew Teanby rings a bell with me. Sharrow Lane School perhaps ?? hillsbro 09-03-2011, 20:14 The name Andrew Teanby rings a bell with me. Sharrow Lane School perhaps ??Could well be. Thomas W. Teanby and his wife Kathleen, née Parker lived at 48 Steade Road. Their son Andrew was born in Oct-Dec 1953 and married Janice Stackhouse in Sheffield in Jul-Sep 1980. They evidently moved to Leeds; two children Jonathan (born March 1985) and Christopher (Oct. 1986). Now living at an up-market address near Leeds. Mum Kathleen lives in S7. Isn't the Internet wonderful?.:) mtnz 13-03-2011, 21:26 Could well be. Thomas W. Teanby and his wife Kathleen, née Parker lived at 48 Steade Road. Why did you feel a need to publish this personal information for all to see about people who you do not even know? le-joker 05-09-2011, 20:52 Yeah, I`ve noticed hillsbro has done this several times in this forum. Why does he need to come up with all this very personal stuff. He obviously relishes rooting this stuff out. All seems a bit creepy to me. Do me a favour hillsbro, don`t answer this or any of my stuff. beechnut 05-09-2011, 21:21 Well it's true to say that hillsboro has put a number of Forummers in touch with long-lost relatives and friends, to their mutual benefit. And as mtnz wrote, the information is "freely available on the net" so what's the harm?.:| PopT 06-09-2011, 17:06 I can vouch for the integrety of Hillsbro, he is a gentleman who loves to help others He helped a lot of people out with his efforts and is a first class forummer. This site would be the worse off without his regular contributions. I don't know how much help to others has been contributed by Le Joker but he will have to go a long way to match Hillsbro's welcome contributions. PopT hillsbro 14-09-2011, 07:41 Thanks for those kind words, PopT and beechnut! The fact is that (whether we like it or not) birth, marriage and death information is in the public domain, as are electoral rolls (albeit edited in recent years). But in order to access much of the indexed data you need to subscribe to one or other of the family history websites such as ancestry.co.uk or findmypast.co.uk (I subscribe to both). Needless to say I don't charge anything for tracing ancestors or finding living relatives, nor do I post current addresses or phone numbers in open forum, but by sending this information via PM I've had some heart-warming messages from people who have contacted family or friends whom they hadn't seen for years, or sometimes decades..:) |
