The Farmer's Market runs on the fourth Sunday of every month, and is situated along the Moor.
I went yesterday, and it's really worth going...loads of yummy food, locally produced. Bread, meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, plants, conserves, honeys, cheeses, etc.

We should all go and support this excellent venture. (and get very fat on all the gorgeous goodies:D )

it really is very good. i have been on a couple of occasions so far and have bought some lovely home made things, fudge etc. definitely recommended!

the strangest thing is watching people buying burgers from a burger van when there is fresh farmer's burgers being sold 10 yards away :-/

Apparently it's in the pay and display car park on Queen St down Town.

But yeah, wait for Thoresby... Better stuff, less likely to get some wazzock selling you summat for a fiver that's worth about 50p if that....

Apologies to the mods for the language :D

The car boot is meant to be inbetween the Wicker and Victoria Quays, at the back of the (Hilton?) Hotel.

There's a Farmers' Market on The Moor - past Debanams, they sell fresh produce from local farmers + people. Go have a look - 10am till 4pm.

Didn't there used to be a Sunday morning shoe market somewhere too. very early morning...

I have a feeling it was on the open air bit near Sheaf Square roundabout.

I did - it was (expletive deleted) cold so attendance was apparently lower than usual. Despite being slightly skint I came home with some interesting stuff to try (would you believe orange, lemon and chocolate marmalade!)

Website here (http://www.sheffieldfarmersmarket.co.uk/)

It's every 4th Sunday of the month.

yay, the last one was great - something really nice about wandering around fargate drinking mulled wine, sampling chorizo then having yummy waffles.

The farmers market's superb - and means I don't have to drive to bakewell (although that one does have the advantage of being indoors!).

It's held on the fourth sunday of every month.

Does anyone know what time the farmers market is on sunday in sheffield town centre (The Moor)?

It starts at 10am runs till 4pm, best to go around 11am when all the stalls are set up.

Make sure you visit the stall opposite Argos on The Moor and buy some lovely Manor Lodge Urban Dairy feta cheeses, from Sheffield Wildlife Trust!

Slightly disappointed that the Feta did not come in a packet rather than a jar. Maybe next time...:)

Make the most of the farmers market - apparently it costs them a lot per stall, and they're I heard one stall holder complaining, as the council aren't publicising it very well. A big banner at the top of the moor would be a start!

We should use it. The only place that there was a farmers market that i knew of before this was when Whirlow Farm have there events. This was always at least 3 quid to get in and i only went for the farmers stuff. :loopy:

And parking in town (that i know of) is free on a Sunday. :D

And yep they have some very scrummy stuff for sale. :D

Ostrich burgers are a real treat for brekky on occasions.

I was wanting to know if there is a Farmers Market down on the Moor tomorrow, so I went to: http://www.sheffieldfarmersmarket.co.uk/
where there once was a calendar for the market days - but not anymore, the site has effectively disappeared, leaving just some marketing hype for "Cynergy Marketing" - who I guess at one time must have had a contract for publicising the market - and links that ultimately take you to http://www.farmersmarkets.net/ that doesn't help - no reference to the market on their Yorkshire page.

Anybody any idea if it is on tomorrow?

I'm going tomorrow but I expect it to be very, very busy with everyone buying up their Christmas meats. Should be a scramble early on:clap:
