I recently received this email:

If [EDITED]@hotmail.com adds you to your MSN Contacts, DO NOT (Irepeat: DO NOT) add it because it's a virus that takes all ur computer details. PLEASE tell everybody on your contacts because if somebody on your list accepts it then you get the virus too! (copy and paste this into a new message because some people do not read forwards!)

is this a true virus warning???

I didn't pass it on to all the people in my address book as instructed as i figured this is actually the best way of spreading a virus to everyone in your address book!!!!! :loopy:

Has anyone else recieved this email?

NOTE: I've edited the original hotmail address in case this is a prank against someone, don't want their email addy on a public forum!!!!

Really very simple I'm afraid...

If someone sends you an email and says "Tell everyone!!" it's 99.99999999% certain it's rubbish.

As for the substance of the email... common sense and some careful screening of anything you receive via email, etc.. along with the usual security precautions (anti-virus, etc...) should protect you... That and "when in doubt, ask" as a mantra.. :)

Oh and there's no virus that you can get because someone else you know was a muppet and ran it... I mean, c'mon... if it did then we'd all be bu**ered :P

Hope that helps...
