Oddgitt   10 #1 Posted March 7, 2011 Hi All,  We're climbing Snowdon in 3 weeks and wonder if anyone knows of a camp site near to the start of one of the walks. A local pub would be grand too  Thanks,  Rich
 Share this content via...
psychosarah   10 #2 Posted March 9, 2011 We stayed in a lovely campsite on the east/south side of Snowdonia....but unfortunetly the weather didnt play nice...from the moment the boot of car opened til the moment we shut the boot a week later, it rained...slugs were rife and was a actual quagmire...even 4x4's got stuck in the 2ft deep mud....avoid at all costs Blaenau Ffestiniog....cant remember the campsite name but it always mentions the otters in the little tumbling stream at the bottom of the field...this was more a raging rapid river!! We found away from that side of the mountain all was sunshine....I'd go westen or north/west. Enjoy
 Share this content via...
Lostrider   10 #3 Posted March 13, 2011 The forestry commission site at Bedgellert is OK. Nice pubs in the village.
 Share this content via...
cloudforest   10 #4 Posted March 13, 2011 If you're after a quiet campsite, here's another one in Beddgelert. Rained a lot last year when we were there but didn't flood. http://www.caeducampsite.co.uk/
 Share this content via...
