UK gas prices will always be the highest as it's mostly tax to pay for the NHS and all the other freebies in the UK.

I shall have to find out what Canada use for theirs as they have a health service that is paid for, or so I am informed by someone trying to get me to visit ;)

I've decided not to go, but to send my daughter. Actually - she wants to go so who am I to stop her. I digress.

Its free to ... er ... nope - can't even spend a penny without spending at least 20p

It's actually worse than that 50p in Holland, 40p in Germany and a whopping 165p in the UK per unit.

The Dutch and Germans have healthcare and pensions every bit as good, if not better than ours, so where is the money going? A very good question.

Here in North America, we're still complaining about the prices. In Canada, it's currently around 90c (45p or so) per litre. In the US it's currently around $2 (a pound or so) per GALLON.

As cheap as bottled water.
