View Full Version : The best 'All you can eat Buffet'
Sheffield has some great eating places but what about the 'All you can eat' buffet's... Can anyone recommend a good one? I've tried that one on West Street next to Tesco's.
I went there at around 1.00pm - apparently the menu is meant to 'improve' during the day...
No comments on that one because I don't want to be done for slander! I shall'nt be going there again.
Any others?
Dear_Ladies 24-11-2005, 21:22 Jumbo's is not bad for Chinese, especially if you go later when the seafood comes out. Includes as much ice cream as you can eat!
Thanks - What time is 'Later'?
ad25121048 24-11-2005, 21:27 Yes, I've been to Jumbo's lots of times. It's a really place with really nice food (well, for the money). Just watch those drinks prices! Also been the 'No. 1' (i think it's called that anyway...) wich was also nice food but it's like sitting in the school dinner hall!
Defo recommend Jumbo's.

Any others? Try the Crosspool Tavern.Crosspool.More a carvery than buffet.Lots of students go there, also pensioners etc; If you go before 5.p.m.Its £2:99for Turkey, beef, or roast ham.(or all three if you want.)Yorkshire pud & stuffing balls.then help yourself to as much veg as you want which includes, carrotts, turnip, cabbage, cauliflower, roast & boiled potatoes then ladles of gravy and cranberry sauce, mustard or apple sauce. OOh, I feel really hungry now !!!!
FairyNormal 24-11-2005, 22:06 We've been to Number1 Oriental a few times and think it's brilliant. Great value for money and the food is lovely. My only problem is that I always end up eating too much!! :gag:
jennifer 24-11-2005, 22:12 cha cha's indian buffet, yum yum!
freedomchap 24-11-2005, 22:15 Cha Chas on Fitwilliam St, next to the Mad Greek (Closed) is a pretty sound indian buffet.
Most "All you can eats" get better as the day goes by, coz they add more choice, the more people are in, also the price goes up. But, I've never been let down by cha cha's and the selection of starters (Bargees, etc) are very good
Cha Cha's rocks! As this time of the year is busy so they keep EVERYTHING topped up. I went last night and the Lamb Vindaloo was very cheeky, like me !!
pennypie 25-11-2005, 14:24 I refuse to go to any all you can eat buffets now, used to think they were a good idea, until I went with a load of people and someone found a false nail in their food, when I say found, I mean "fished it out of their mouth".

Suppose that one is down to the clientele...
I've done both Jumbo and Cha Chas and enjoyed both.
I think Chas Chas is the best.
I'm starting to get sick of going to All you can eats......
It's nearly always a let down and since one plate of food is usually enough - I'd rather go to a decent place and order something of my own choice.
It's like being forced to eat horrible school dinners sometimes.
IMO
diskoheaven 25-11-2005, 18:28 I would have to go for Jumbos, definitly beats wokmania for choice and quality, even if it is a bit more expensive.
I always end up eating too much as well, since I last went to wokmania I can no longer walk past it, the smell reminds me of how sick it made me feel!
A.B.Yaffle 25-11-2005, 20:14 Cha chas is excellent.
Going to try No1 soon, but I will be amazed if it turns out to be as good as cha chas.

Dj_Shadowman 02-12-2005, 10:11 its on fitzwilliam Street, next. to the old mad greek
I worked as a DJ there for six months and ate a LOT of food in there, always found it to be excellent.
However, for chinese, it has to be jumbo's.
funkster 02-12-2005, 11:57 Cha Chas is a fantastic buffet! and after that you can burn it off down stairs in Dq

i think the problem with all you can eat buffet's is that people seem to see them more as a challenge rather than a meal, i know erm i've never done that! :P
jumbos was great, went for first time this week. gonna have to try the cha chas one though!
StarSparkle 02-12-2005, 16:31 Definitely Jumbos!
Such great food I ate too much of it and started to put weight on, so I've had to stop going! :(
