Hey, why not try selling those numbers in a lucky bag on ebay....

Apparently they have little or no actual mathamatical significance:

http://www.d.kth.se/~dicander/lost.html

More likely they refer to coordinates of some kind?

(Didn't see the E4 episode...will have to wait until Sunday for more info.)

I think they are the numbers that one of the survivors used when he won on the lottery, there is some connection with this and another survivor later on in the series.

The portly geek - he won the lottery with a bunch of numbers told to him in an 'asylum' and they also turned up on the inside of the hatch. Curioser and Curioser.

I don't watch LOST btw.

Good to see Hurley finally getting a decent episode devoted to his character.

I vote they just bring the conclusion on now instead of dragging it all out until March 2017

It's not fair to spoil it for people who are still only on season 1.
I couldn't possibly say anything about what's down that hatch, why the numbers are written on the side and what all this has to do with the doctor ;)

You all have access to the internet where there are loads of sites dedicated to this subject.

Many from America who are several episodes ahead of the UK.

Duh!

Isn't Lost supposed to resemble purgatory? That's the way it seems to be going anyway.

As with LOST, as with life...an answer just throws up more questions.

I think the program is ****. It had potential to be very interesting, but it's ended up being quite run-of-the-mill.

I just want to know how it ends.

Although it will probably drag on to series 73 or something like 24 has.

Can someone answer this question please...

Right at the end of the numbers episode after Charlie didn't believe Hurley about being worth millions of dollars, the camera cuts to something with the numbers on it. What was it? Was it the aeroplane or the thing that Lock has been trying to dig up? I was too busy looking at the numbers and didn't notice what they were written on! Doh!!

It was the door/bomb-shelter/isolation-chamber thing that Lock and Boone have been twiddling with for ages...but as nobody else knows about it, will Hurly ever find out the link?:suspect:

I agree. I started watching the first few episodes and tried to get into it but just couldn't. I usually really like intriguing programmes like this but it all just bores me.

I just hope the ending will result in either a) it all being a dream or b) they all get killed.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!

What Elephant?

What else happens? Is Lock going to walk alright now?

Is that girl going to be pregnant for 70 more weeks?

Does Charlie remember Frodo?

Some of the lads at work call me Frodo. :D Nice to see someone on the forum using the name.

I borrowed series 1 of Lost from a friend and it's much better to watch them one after the other. I think I might've got bored watching them week to week.

I'll be looking out for series 2 when it's out. :)

A lot of my colleagues are already onto series 2 of this and have said that the best is yet to come. All I know is that the end of series one leaves you begging for series two !!!!

Frodo
06-12-2005, 12:20
Begging?

I'm just begging for it to make some sense!

C'mon guys leak some more of the story.....

Zebra

Ahhh, series 2 is wonderful, and when Charlie and Jack fall in love and have babies courtesy of the magic of the island no one is really surprised.
Of course when Sun turned into a flying dragon and flew off into the sunset chewing Jin we were slightly stunned. The only real shocker was when the island sank into the sea and they all drowned. Not sure how they can complete the series now, never mind get to series 6.
Maybe the story continues in space or under the sea.... :D :D :D
The end of series 1 is a real killer, the kind of ending that makes you resent the UK broadcasting people for being SO slow.
Do you really want to know about the numbers? Isn't it better to watch the series and see?
I can't wait for episode 9 of series 2.. tick... tick... tick.......

Frodo

Zebra you are very naughty!

but tell me more - your version sounds much more interesting!

Ok, well in S2 Ep1 Jack escapes back home and meets his sister in law for a cuppa while he's there, she tells him that she's been reading her cards and that she has had a message from Mystic Meg and Derek Acorah and they've seen that Charlie is in love with him. So Jack hires Richard Branson to take him back to the island but they get lost and end up on another island close by.

S2 Ep2
Later that day Charlie is lifted up by a freak tornado and dropped on the island and the two are reunited. Richard Branson performs the nuptuals and Shannon is the bridesmaid before the island iself lifts itself out of the water and we see that in fact it is a huge sea beast which then shakes itself and Jack and Charlie go flying but land back on the other island, fortunately!

Series 2 Ep3
Claire, the pregnant lady suddenly realises it is a phantom pregnancy because she is in fact a transexual and sets up all the survivors in a peformance of The Birdcage especially for the mad French woman who then realises she is actually a Norwegian extreme sport swimmer and she jumps into the sea and swims off.
Sahid finds a brand new helicopter and sets up leisure rides around the island for passing tourist trade and marauders.

S2 Ep4
Locke finds that he is Claire's father and had never revealed that he had a son who he had believed lost, which means Turniphead is his grandson. Locke then had a slight mental problem and returns to his own infancy and is then cared for by Claire. he also belives he is a monkey and spends lots of time in the trees.

S2 ep5
Sun finds a herb which brings her Korean roots right out as she is in fact descended from a long line of shapechangers, while cooking some lumpfish and herbs she turns into her alternate self and whizzes around the island until she finds the polar bear which she then toasts and eats before returning for Jin who she picks up and flies away with.

S2 ep6
Jack finds that he is pregnant and Charley is the father and in a bizzare twist Charley finds he is pregnant and Jack is the father. Hurley then believes he is pregnant too and there is no father but then realises he just has wind from eating too many bananas.
Boon suddenly returns in a ghostly form and haunts everyone.

S2 ep7
Kate notices that Sawyer is missing his little Zebra back in the UK and gives him her Dora The Explorer lilo which is folded up inside her purse by magic, he fashions some oars out of coconuts and palm leaves and Sawyer returns to the Uk to be with the woman he adores (me) but then he finds that Jack has climbed inside and stowed away because he also wants to be with this woman (still me) and that the pregnancy was just a dream, he'd eaten too much coconut cheese before bed.
Both arrive suitably bedraggled and gorgeous.

S2 ep8
The island sinks in the first 3 seconds of the programme and the rest of transmission shows the surface of the sea broken intermittantly by seagulls, dolphins and flying fish.

Errr, should I have said SPOILER ALERT!! HEHE

Thats probably a pretty bad idea, imagine how many other people will have done the same thing, you'd probably end up with your millions being split several thousand ways :)

I am surprised this thread isnt talked about more, I for one, am hooked on this, dont ask me why, I dont know, maybe its the numbers thats done it for me.... those numbers ... we mentioned this at work today, as our table watches this, and we all said "I wonder how many put these on a lottery numbers" dont do it I say, dont do it lol

Seriously, I am into series 2 now, episode 8 or something, and its good stuff, especially when you watch 3 or 4 episodes at once. I cannot turn it off... I am hooked ... oh dear.
