It's not a Sheffield event, so I put it in here...

For all you would-be vikings, York is the place to be this weekend. You can have a go at stonecarving, coin stamping, and living life in Britain 1000 years ago...There will even be a coronation in York Minster.
Or you can come and laugh at me and my mates as we parade about in kit and/or fight awesome battles in the name of history and education. (Just remember, poking fun at large hairy men with spears and swords can be a painful mistake. And I will be hiding behind them.)

It's excellent and educational fun for children, and for anyone interested in the details of Saxon and Viking life in the past.
