As I was coming to work this morning I walked past the Straddle building by the Hilton and there were police there and a taped crime scene around the canal.
My work colleagues have told me that a body has been found. I've tried looking to see if there is any info but can't find anything yet, maybe it's too early. Has anyone here heard anything? Its a bit spooky.

The Learning and Skills Council are at the Straddle. Wonder if they are connected?

Another colleague saw the body and said that she thought it was male and of quite large build. Apparently the body was found by a milkman. I'm not sure if that's true I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Work is currently being undertaken on the canal. Someone said they are draining it, not sure why. I think it was leaking or something. Maybe disturbing the waters has disturbed the body? Or maybe it's not been in there that long. It's all a bit grim.

This story has appeared on the BBC South Yorkshire website. They have named the person, he is someone that owns a boat down there and reckon he slipped whilst working on it and drowned.

It's very sad. :( There's flowers down there today.
