Dear all,
Does anyone know of an animal sanctuary just outside sheffield maybe somewhere around ringinglow way?
Im sure my freinds used to help out there walking dogs at the weekends and I just wondered who I needto contact to get involved.
Cheers,

There's Thornberry Animal Sanctuary near Dinnington, the workers there are fantastic and the shelter itself great, with a no-kill policy unlike a lot of others. Our uni animal rights group is collecting for them this friday in the city centre if you'd like to help them financially as well as with your time. We'll be in Fargate from 11:30ish for a few hours. this is their website;

I think that you'll find virtually all of the local charities have a no-kill policy (please correct me if I'm wrong). Certainly we do at the Cats Shelter (all euthenasia is on vet recommendations) and so do the Cats Protection and all of the other places around here that I know of. The one notable exception (historically) was the RSPCA, which is why so many people have brought older cats to us rather than take them to the RSPCA.
In answer to the OP's request, maybe you mean Millhouse Animal Sanctuary?
MILLHOUSE ANIMAL SANCTUARY
The sanctuary is open to visitors 365 days a year, from 10.30am to 4pm.
SANCTUARY: Millhouse, Mayfield Rd, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S10 4PR
Tel: 0114 230 2907
I think the place you're thinking of is Millhouse animal sanctuary in the Mayfield valley, near Lodge Moor.
Here's`their website address http://millhouseanimalsanctuary.org.uk/
It's a lovely place, beautiful setting. Think they specialise in rescuing Shetland ponies. Ahhh!
