A cheeky heads up on an event going down on Friday the 4th March at the Fusion in Sheffield Uni Union! Doors open at 10:30PM and music till 3AM!
Here at Cool Beans we are extremely honoured to be bringing one of the best electro swing acts of the moment to Sheffield - THE CORRESPONDENTS.
Starting out in November 2007, old friends Mr Bruce and Mr Chuckles, returned to London after a firm schooling at their respective Universities. The unlikely pair cut their teeth at a few parties and decided to cement the live performance relationship in their makeshift recording studio. Since then tracks have been recorded, stages have been stomped and knees have hit nipples.
Some of you may have caught these guys absolutely storming it at such festivals as Glastonbury, Bestival, Big Chill, Shambala and Secret Garden party or even sharing the stage with such acts as Lilly Allen, VV Brown, Bat For Lashes, Lazy Habits, Bassment Jaxx, Rob Da Bank, Rusko, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Jocelyn Brown and the Dub Pistols. We assure you that this talented duo are not to be missed!
A headline act in their own right, support comes from the party-starting 12 piece ensemble RENEGADE BRASS BAND. Playing a mix of original material and covers, this troupe mix a raw brass sound with the best of funk, hip-hop and soul. Fresh off the back of their bangin' performance at Tuesday Club earlier this year, RBB won't disappoint!
As if this wasn't already enough, local ska/reggae outfit NICE ONE GREG will be opening up the night. Featuring a three piece rhythm section and a two piece horn section, expect some seriously good vibes!
And of course the COOL BEANS DJS will be on hand to spin the tunes before, in between and after the acts. Get ready to hear some of the best reggae, swing, gypsy, funk, disco, ska, hip-hop, electronica and sea shanties that money can't download!
