Second rant of the evening, I'm doing well.

This is taken from Slashdot.org, a nerdy newspaper.

"The new Darwin Exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History has 'failed to find a corporate sponsor in the United States because American companies are anxious not to take sides in the heated debate between scientists and fundamentalist Christians over the theory of evolution '"

It's this type of bigoted hypocratic ignorance that really gets my hackles up.

I thought the US of A was meant to have a separation between church and state, because clearly here we have one infringing on the other. I dare say 99% of those working for the companies, privately, have no time whatsoever for the creationism debate but here science appears to be running scared from a group of hillbillies with pitchforks.

Surely it's time someone stood up for science over there?

Mine, too, ADC_28.

There are many Americans sticking up for science; their reasoned arguments simply don't get the publicity that the creationists' "intelligent design" ideas get. Americans United for Separation of Church and State is one organization committed to keeping religion out of non-religious schools (we call them public schools) and government-funded museums. Ah, thanks for the link, very interesting.

There was me thinking that Jon Stewart was the only voice of moderation and reason in the US...
