I have Sky+ which is great and I have connected my DVD player /home cinema to it via a scart lead.

I also have an old VCR connected to the Sky+ via a second scart lead. This means I can transfer recorded programmes to VHS before deleting them from Sky+. I cannot record programmes directly onto VHS as Sky+ gets priority from the dish. [which is fine]

This Christmas I'm thinking of ditching the old VCR and replacing it with a cheap DVD recorder. Does any one know if I can set it up so that I can record programmes directly to DVD should I want to on the odd occassion? If not I will just use it as before - to transfer stuff from Sky+

The DVD recorder will work in the same fashion as your VCR. So you will have to use the copy function of Sky+.

Quite why you posted this in 'General Sheffield Chat' I dont know!
