Need to go to Doncaster today, - how bad is the fog on the M1/MI8 ?

Well ive just been up to junc1 M18 and visibility is good.

The M1 is blocked both ways between J29 & J30, and Chesterfield is a nightmare with all the diverted traffic ....... at 08:30.

I did see signs about that been closed but at the time i was there 7.30 ish it was flowing okay - unlike last night but i can imagine it is causing a problem now

There wasn't any fog really on the M1 this morning. Although the southbound carriageway was chocka because of the J29-30 closure. Mind you it took me 10 minutes LESS to get into work today as I drive north on the M1 from J31 to 33. There was hardly any traffic going northbound!

The cause of the problems on the M1 are two car transporters that have shed some cars.

Radio Sheffield are reporting that the M1 is still closed in both directions between J29 & J30

I know it's a bit out of way, but....................

Poor visibility has caused a 3x car crash South-bound near Tibshelf Services.

15 mile queue north bound 9 mile southbound.
just aborted journey to nottingham, the traffic is almost @ J31 now.

am not very good with Mway J which is the turning for the M18 and which is to the top of the parkway?

parkway is J33 rotherham, m18 is J32.J31 is worksop/aston
